I'm Getting Married & Where I Have Been

I haven’t touched a lot of my work regarding NixOS / ZaneyOS in a while. I have had a lot going on with life and it’s been a great past few months. I met a wonderful woman, Ashley, at my work and we very quickly hit it off. I had been dating her for a few weeks and just knew I was going to marry her. She hasn’t had very many good birthdays throughout her life so on her bithday this year, took her out and we had a great day. I proposed before the night was over.

How I Met Her #

We worked together in separate departments, I thought she was gorgeous. We started flirting with each other when I was leaving from my shift. I asked for her number at work one day before leaving, she gave it to me. I, like an absolute idiot threw my phone down in my back pocket and butt dialed her. So she still has that ridiculous butt dial voicemail on her phone. We ended up spending hours every night FaceTiming and talking. We went on our first proper date to see Deadpool vs. Wolverine which was a great movie and had a great time with her.

I just fell in love with her fast. I think we had been dating for close to two weeks when I am visiting her on break at work and she gets out of the car. Before the door had shut I just said, “I love you.” I didn’t even think about it, it just came out. She didn’t hear it, but I meant it.

How I Proposed #

This is the fun part of this story, especially if you like having a laugh at my expense. After a day of doing all the stuff she would like to do, we are going to my family’s house. On the way I have the plan to drive by a lookout spot that I used to go to and propose there before we go see my family. I drive all along the road and go as far as to go to places where I am sure I have passed it looking for the spot. Later my mom let me know that they got rid or redeveloped of the spot I was looking for. After what felt like an eternity looking for this place, I pulled up to a field in front of a soccer field. I ended up proposing to her there, we got out of the car and I told her how much I love her. Said I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her and got down on one knee.

Needless to say we have a fun story of me nervously driving around trying to find the right place to propose.

Looking Forward To The Future #

We have a lot going on in life that we are dealing with. We have all the plans to take care of for the wedding and my sister is getting married a few months before us next year. I got scammed by a fake job opportunity and am now looking for work. With all that we are blessed with a family that gets along, loves each other, and spends plenty of time getting together to play cards. I am very optimistic that I will find something much better for work. When it comes to all the wedding stuff I am the type of person that just truly believes it will all work out and be incredible. I am just excited for married life.
